Gilles Desplanches celebrated his pastry shop's 25th anniversary with a 1.2-kilometer-long cream cake on Sunday in Geneva, Switzerland. About 200 people working in catering industry and volunteers in 30 teams made delicious and impressive cake. With two months in preparation, the cake used up four tons of ingredients and started baking a week ago. The Guinness World Records judge declared that the cake broke the 1992 record, which was set by a Belgian measuring 1,037 meters. The cake would be cut into shorter pieces of 50 centimeters each and sold with the revenue to be donated to an organization combating breast cancer.
