Adele is known for smashing music records worldwide, and winning multiple Grammy awards, but last night at the 85th Academy Awards she conquered new territory.
Adele and her songwriting partner Paul Epworth won the Oscar for best original song on Sunday (February 24) for the latest James Bond theme song "Skyfall."
Adele thanked Epworth through her tears for working with her on the song.
"Thank you so much, thank you, this is amazing. I'd just like to thank Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson at Eon Productions. Sony Pictures, MGM, Paul Epworth for, oh god, believing in me all the time. And my man, I love you baby. Paul Epworth," Adele said after getting her award.
Adele also performed the award winning song live during the ceremony, which honored over 50 years of the James Bond franchise.
Epworth and Adele greeted the media backstage to talk about their big win. Adele was asked if she planned on becoming an artist who had won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.
"I don't know, maybe I'll do like an HBO special like Beyonce did. And then a Tony, I'm not so sure. Maybe one day. Maybe someone might want to do a musical. Sorry, not my kind of thing a musical, no offense," laughed Adele.
The singer said that she was going to celebrate her win - but no too hard.
"I think I might go to the Vanity Fair party; that would be quite nice. But I have to get up at six, so one glass of champagne and I'm gone these days."
Adele also received a Golden Globe Award and Critics Choice Award for the song ‘Skyfall.’
