Alice In Wonderland Goes Gothic For Fashion

For those at Yasutaka Funakoshi’s show at Tokyo Fashion Week on Friday, Alice in Wonderland may have wondered down a rabbit hole too far. Models cascaded down the runway in clothing that was clearly inspired by the book written by Lewis Carroll with a contrast to more gothic influences with strong color palette of reds and black. The music set the tone of darkness with a throbbing beat. The looks ranged from Cheshire cat look a likes to full sized mad hatters and even models walked down the runway with tables in hand. Funakoshi normally designs gothic themed clothing and said that while he was originally making the clothing just because he wanted to, has since attracted a large following.
