Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke arrived for a meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) at the U.S. Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, March 19.
The FOMC, which sets the Fed's monetary policy, will be meeting for two days and will release its statement on Wednesday (March 20).
Investors awaiting the outcome of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting are looking for clues on whether the central bank is considering slowing or ending its bond purchases after recent data showed the U.S. economy picking up momentum.
