Scientists at the National Marine Mammal Foundation in San Diego, California, released audio that they claim shows a Beluga whale spontaneously mimicking sounds of the human voice. The scientists published their findings in the scientific journal “Current biology” and released a photograph with this recording. What it is, is audio of white whale’s speech. The scientists discover that the whale speech sounds like two people talking. The ‘conversations’ were heard several times before the whale was eventually identified as the source. Dr Sam Ridgway said in a statement; “A diver mistook the whale for a human voice giving him underwater directions”.
