Honduran naval forces recovered around 400 kilos of cocaine from a small boat intercepted on its way to the United States.
Authorities said on Wednesday, the drugs were seized on the boat, manned by a two-man crew, at dawn on Wednesday.
The drugs were tightly packed in 13 separate bundles.
One of the men was arrested another died after a shootout with naval forces.
Officials told reporters the men were from Jamaica.
The Honduran Defense Minister said these were the first illegal drugs seized so far this year and added that security forces would be ramping up anti-drug trafficking efforts in Honduran waters to keep up with shifting smuggling routes.
The Central American country is a top transit spot for South American cocaine destined for the United States.
