On-lookers were in for a treat as they got to see the Comet Pan-STARRS dressing the night sky in a dazzling display that was visible to the naked eye. The video shot by Reuters shows the comet appearing as a fuzzy ball of light streaking the night sky, followed by a white tail of light. The Comet officially known as C/2011 L4 was discovered in June 2011 in Hawaii. It is believed that this comet is visiting Earth for the first time: But what is a comet anyway? Comets are comprised of minerals, rocks and ice they are believed to be remnants from the formation of the solar system some 4.5 billion years ago. Comet Pan-STARRS is on the inside orbit of Mercury as it heads toward the sun. This comet has serious potential to be so bright that it may become visible in the daylight that is if it’s not destroyed by the sun. Video Courtesy Of Reuters
