A series of photos showing Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro inaugurating a school in Havana were released by the Cuban government on Thursday (April 11). The photographs, which were taken on Tuesday (April 9), show Castro wearing a blue sports jacket and a blue checkered shirt. He is surrounded by children and troops while inaugurating the Vilma Espin Guillois school in the Havana municipality of Playa. Castro ruled Cuba for 49 years before age and ill health forced him to step down in 2008. He was succeeded by younger brother Raul Castro, 81, but remains a power behind the scenes and writes occasional columns for Cuban press. Video Source: Reuters
