Dell Going Private In $24.4 Billion Deal

Stocks rose on Tuesday, rebounding from their worst daily loss since November in the prior session. Dell announced that the computer maker will go private in a $24.4 billion deal that also involves Microsoft and private equity firm Silver Lake. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the second quarter of Dell's fiscal 2014. The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was up 84.21 points, or 0.61 percent, at 13,964.29. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was up 9.12 points, or 0.61 percent, at 1,504.83. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was up 10.31 points, or 0.33 percent, at 3,141.48. (Video Source: Reuters)
