In 2008 OJ Simpson former athlete and Hollywood star was sentenced to 33 years in prison: The charges were related to his role in the robbery of two sports memorabilia dealers. On Wednesday the parole board in Nevada granted him parole on some charges, but he will remain in prison for other charges.

The board granted the parole on the basis of his role in jail, becoming a somewhat positive inmate by his participation in inmate programs. The fact that he has other sentences to serve leaves him behind bars at the age of 66.

The charges for which Simpson is serving include; kidnapping, robbery and burglary with a firearm all in regard to the incident at a La Vegas hotel in 2007. At the time of the incident Simpson with five other men entered the Palace Station Hotel and Casino and stole sports memorabilia worth millions of dollars at gun point.

A spokesperson for the Nevada Board of Parole Commissioners said that if Simpson were successful in future parole requests he would not be released from prison before 2017.
