DJIA: Stock futures extend losses after retail sales data, Moody's warns may cut AAA-rating for UK and France

Stocks fell today after data showed retail sales rose less than expected in January from December as consumers cut back on car purchases and shopped less online.

Rating agency Moody's warned it may cut the triple-A ratings of France, Britain and Austria and it downgraded six other European nations including Italy, Spain and Portugal, citing growing risks from Europe's debt crisis.

Republicans in the House leadership Monday said they are open to passing a 10-month extension of a cut in payroll taxes without paying for it in order to avoid an election-year showdown on funding a popular proposal.

Boeing Co said on Tuesday it signed its largest ever commercial airplane order with Indonesia's Lion Air in a deal worth $22.4 billion.
