After a man phoned 911 to say that his dog had wandered onto the ice Thursday (December 27) rescue workers located the dog and brought him to shore.
The dog who lives with his owner on the coast of Lake Erie outside the town of Brownstown Township, Michigan was rubbed by rescue workers to keep warm as they prepared to transfer it to a boat to get to shore.
One rescue worker who was holding on to the outside of the small boat where the dog had been placed was seen falling through the ice repeatedly as the boat made its way towards the shore.
Once safely on shore, the rescue workers successfully gathered up the cold dog and carried it to the waiting ambulance.
