Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) reported a fiscal third-quarter loss of 9 cents a share on revenue of $17.09 billion, compared with Wall Street expectations for a quarterly loss of 9 cents a share on $16.77 billion in revenue, according to analysts polled by Reuters.
Shares of Amazon soared 8.14 percent to $332.21 in after-hours trading.
Zynga Inc. (NASDAQ: ZNGA) reported a third-quarter loss of 2 cents per share on revenue of $152 million, compared with analysts’ expectations for earnings of 4 cents a share on revenue of $143 million.
Shares of Zynga skyrocketed 12.59 percent to $3.98 in extended-hours trading.
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) reported fiscal first-quarter net income rose to $5.24 billion, or 62 cents a share, on revenue of $18.53 billion, compared with analysts forecasts for earnings excluding items of 54 cents a share on $17.79 billion in revenue.
Shares of Microsoft jumped 5.75 percent to $35.66 after the close.
The Dow Jones industrial average climbed 95.88 points, or 0.62 percent, to close at 15,509.21. The S&P 500 Index was up 5.69 points, or 0.33 percent, to end at 1,752.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 21.89 points, or 0.56 percent, to finish at 3,928.96.
