In a unique Auction one lucky bidder has the chance to own the skeleton of a 150 million year old dinosaur. The dinosaur which stands 14 feet high is 55 feet long and was discovered in America, assembled in the Netherlands and now will go under the hammer in the UK.

The name of the dinosaur is Diplodocus, and there are only a handful of these skeletons left in the world today, making this piece extremely rare. Commenting on the significance was curator Errol Fuller:

"Such a thing in a reasonably good state very rare and there is an awful lot of work has gone into preparing it, digging it out of the ground and consolidating all the bones and then assembling them into the form you see there. There's hundreds and hundreds and thousands of hours of work gone into that."

It is estimated that the skeleton will fetch anywhere between 400-600,000 Pounds when it goes under the hammer on November 27th. This is the first time a skeleton this complete could be owned by someone that does not belong to a museum.
