Hollywood’s night of nights begun fashionably on the red carpet for the 85th Academy Awards: Trends from the night included a lot of glitz; embellishments and dramatic dresses that screamed go big or go home. Stars like Naomi Watts and best gal pal Nicole Kidman chose one of the hottest trends of the night in their sparkling metallic gowns that seemed to fit like a second skin. Best supporting actress nominee Amy Adams looked every bit the Hollywood starlet in her princess Oscar de le Renta gown that would make even Cinderella jealous. Sally Field looked every bit the Hollywood royalty that she is dazzling in a ravishing red dress by Valentino. The best supporting actress nominee proved that style and grace can be attained at any age with this classic Hollywood look. Anne Hathaway one of the nights big winners for her performance in “Les Miserables” left the fashion crowd underwhelmed in her baby pink Prada number. Often regaled for her classic red carpet style, Hathaway dropped the fashion ball on Hollywood’s night of nights. She may have walked away with an Oscar, but she will not win any fashion cred for her ill-fitting dress that lacked any sort of Oscar wow factor. One of the best dressed of the night was none other than Jennifer Lawrence. The best actress winner stole the spotlight on the red carpet with her dramatic strapless Dior Couture gown that left no one wondering who the bell of the awards was. Despite her fall accepting her gold statue the young star proved that she is a winner both on the screen and on the red carpet.
