A landslide in China's southwestern Guizhou province buried five people, including two children on Monday (February 18).
According to news reports, the landslide occurred at around 11 AM (0300 GMT) engulfing six workers' dormitories in its path.
Chinese state television CCTV said that rescue efforts are still underway but due to the dangers posed by falling debris and the possibility of other landslides occurring, the process has been slowed.
Natural disasters such as landslides and earthquakes are not uncommon in the remote communities of southwestern China.
In January of 2012, a landslide in nearby Yunnan province killed 46 people.
Earlier that year, several villages in Yunnan province were rocked by earthquakes that killed at least 80 people and damaged thousands of buildings.
