Welsh police and local residents were searching on Tuesday for a five year old girl who went missing near her home in Machynlleth, in The United Kingdom, the previous evening. Police have confirmed they are treating the disappearance of April Jones as a possible abduction. The girl was last seen by another child, getting into a grey or light colored van on Monday evening. Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan said the child went missing at about 1920 on Monday evening after playing with friends on the estate. "She was playing with friends this evening and at around 7.20 she has gone missing. We haven't seen her since. Obviously we have put in all our resources; we have been supported by the community. We have had tremendous support from the community. Every avenue of inquiry that we have we are following up and we will be through the night to find her. With a van she could be anywhere, we are searching, stopping all vehicle coming out of Machynlleth. At this time we can't rule anything out, we are following every line of inquiry,"
Overnight more than 200 local residents joined the search for the missing child.
