Italy’s financial police on Wednesday said it had discovered an illegal marijuana plantation in feral woods near the north-eastern city of Ravenna thanks to footage filmed by flying drones.
The marijuana plantation had been set up in an abandoned woods area and was hidden by thick vegetation. A thorough irrigation and lighting system had been set up by the site, according to officials.
The plantation was identified by drones that had been used to control the stability of buildings in the area which was recently hit by strong earthquakes. The police said it had seized 182 cannabis plants with a weight of seven tons from the site.
