Workers and locals rallied together in combined fury over the death toll which has climbed past 300 people after a building collapse in Bangladesh. Rescue workers tried to sift amongst the ruble looking and hoping to find survivors.
72 people since day break Friday were pulled from the rubble alive, two days after the eight-story building tragically collapsed just outside the capital, Dhaka. Fear like the anger spread as people worried that more workers were trapped.
Working conditions in Bangladesh are now under a microscope as the country has 3.6 million garment workers, mostly women working in various factories. Around 2,350 people have been rescued, most of which are suffering from injuries.
Bangladesh is the second largest exporter of garments in the world, but worker safety is often compromised and the wages are extremely low.
