Delhi was drenched in the colors of the Holi festival on Wednesday (March 27) as locals immersed themselves in festive spirits by pouring handfuls of bright colored powder on each other.
Locals gathered near the 2010 Commonwealth games Talkatora indoor stadium in a festive mood, spraying dry powder, greeting each other and dancing to the rhythm of drumbeats.
People, despite their age or gender, came together to share the warmth and beauty of India's famous color festival, and welcome the Spring season.
Children and girls dressed in traditional costumes and floral headbands as they performed folk music and traditional 'Rabindra sangeet' (songs). The participants showcased their talent with singers and musicians performing live on the stage.
Westerners visiting the city immersed themselves in bright colours and enjoyed the cultural ethos.
"I am really enjoying this program. It's very nice, everyone's been very nice to us and gentle with the colours, so we are really having a good time," said Diana, a western tourist.
India's festival of colors, Holi is being celebrated on Wednesday (March 27) this year.
