Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Reynolds was in Mexico City on Thursday (November 15) for GQ Mexico's "GQ Men of the Year" party and awards ceremony.
Reynolds received the magazine's International Actor of the Year Award during the ceremony, which was held in Mexico City's posh Sante Fe neighbourhood.
Reynolds has several films slated for release in 2013, including two animated films, "Turbo" and "The Croods", both from "Shrek" producer Jeffrey Katzenberg.
"Well, in animated films there is no real ceiling. There is no such thing as over the top. You go as big as you possibly can, and it makes those small moments kind of sing more. I love that. It was a real exercise. It felt a lot like when I was a kid starting out, in improv comedy classes and just the sky was the limit in terms of your imagination, and that's what animation really is. Your filmed while your recording though, so their using your facial expressions and your body movements. It was such a unique opportunity and I was so grateful to Jeffrey Katzenberg for giving me not one, but two of his animated films," Reynolds said.
Also in attendance at the party were Mexican silver-medal Olympic divers German Sanchez and Ivan Garcia, who received the Athletes of the Year award, and Mexican soap-opera star Diego Boneta who won the Revelation of the Year award.
The award for Best Mexican International Actor went to "Y tu Mama Tambien" actor Gael Garcia Bernal, who was unable to attend.
