Looking to the sky Friday evening you may get the chance to see a huge asteroid narrowly miss planet earth. The asteroid is 150 foot wide according to NASA employee Donald Yeoman’s:
"There's really nothing to be worried about when this asteroid passes the earth on February 15th. We understand its orbit extremely well and we can say with great confidence that there is no chance of hitting the Earth and the chances of hitting the satellite are negligible."
Friday’s flyby will give scientists the opportunity to study and learn about the asteroid in terms of its composition and structure. This will then assist further developing strategies against threatening space rocks.
