Organ donation has long been a problem, and the lack of resources means that a lot of people die, waiting for a lifesaving donation. But now, after years of testing and research scientists have been able to grow a pair of human lungs in just 4 weeks.

The procedure was done using 2 deceased children and parts of their own lungs. Testing was done on a pig and a rat, beforehand, but now this is the first time scientists have been able to grow a pair of human lungs.

While it could be 12 years before this procedure can be done, the success shows the bright future of science and highlights hope for all those sick people waiting for an organ transplant.
