Fans and collectors from all corners of the world will have the chance to get their hands on extremely rare Tintin memorabilia, by cartoonist Herge. Herge is the creator of Tintin, and in addition works by Georges Remi, who worked under him will also be available for Tintin fans. The highly anticipated works will go under the hammer at the beginning of December in Paris.
Tintin was created in 1929 and has become one of the most iconic and celebrated icons of the comic book world: It has been translated in more than 50 languages, and over 200 million copies of his book have been sold.
But it will cost you to have a piece of Tintin with estimations between 200 and 180,000 Euros for a piece of memorabilia. Possibly the more valuable items at the auction will be the first edition books.
There is a huge demand for Tintin memorabilia, and in 2008 an original cover for ‘Tintin in America’ sold for 750,000 Euros at Auction.
