Indian Man Commissions $250,000 Gold Shirt In Quest For Fame

One Indian man’s quest for gold and fame led him to hunt down one of the most expensive shirts in the world – a gold top worth more than $250,000. Datta Phuge, a 32-year-old money lender, ordered the shirt from his jeweler and it took 15 goldsmith’s working 16 hours a day for two weeks to weave the delicate gold threads. The man said that he always wanted to do something, which would make him famous across the country and get his name into record books. The shirt comes complete with its own matching cuffs and a set of rings also crafted from gold. The gaudy shirt has been assembled on a fabric base of imported white velvet, and comes with six Swarovski crystal buttons and an intricate belt, all made up of gold. Phuge said that the gold shirt has been one of his dreams and it would be an embellishment to his reputation as the "Gold man." Video Source: Reuters
