Muslim protests against the insults to the Prophet Mohammed turned violent in Pakistan, when at least six people were killed on Friday, the Muslim day of prayer that the government had declared as “Love the Prophet Day”. The anti-Islam video created in California has sparked international outrage with mass protests across the world. In Pakistan tens of thousands of people joined the protests in several cities their involvement was encouraged by the government. Crowds set two cinemas ablaze and ransacked shops clashing with riot police who fired tear gas. The U.S embassy in Pakistan has run television spots, one featuring Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, saying the government had nothing to do with the film about Mohammad. The Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf has said an attack on Islam’s founder was “an attack on the whole 1.5 billion population of Muslims”.
