Several villages in central Croatia were flooded on Tuesday (January 22), as several days of warm weather caused snow to melt and pour into local rivers.
Heavy raining over the past 24 hours also contributed to flooding, with local roads left submerged in water, disrupting traffic and leaving villages without supplies.
Rescue teams worked around the clock to bring in food and supplies to affected villages, and said they were prepared for the possibility of large scale evacuations. At this stage not a single house has been flooded. Rescue teams are working to be there everyday while help is needed. Boats are being used to transport people and supplies.
