Mount Etna is Europe’s highest active volcano often showing off with spectacular lava shows. On Tuesday the famous volcano spilled red hot lava into the night sky. The lava show saw the black sky painted in hues of red and amber, as a beautiful natural show. The activity is said to have taken place at a new crater around 2,900 meters in height.
Luckily the magnificent lava show did not threaten the safety of those living nearby. The eruptions from Etna are often but rarely dangerous. Roads were later seen covered by hardened pieces of lava: After the eruption comes the most difficult part for inhabitants of the area which is the ash showers that follow.
