NASA released video taken aboard one of its twin Gravity Recovery And Interior Laboratory (GRAIL) lunar spacecraft that shows images from the dark side of the moon. In the video captured on January 19, the spacecraft flies from the moon's north to south pole. It shows rugged terrain and impact craters caused by asteroids after the moon was formed.

The spacecraft - nicknamed Ebb - took images of the side of the moon hidden from earth's view during a test of its camera, the MoonKam or Moon Knowledge Acquired by Middle school students. MoonKAM will be used interactively by students to choose lunar images to study starting in March.
