New video of a deadly sinkhole in Florida shows the inside of the giant cavity that swallowed a man while he was asleep in his bedroom. The video, shot in February, was released by officials on Tuesday (April 2). On February 28, Jeff Bush, 36, was in bed when the other five members of the household who were getting ready for bed heard a loud crash and Jeff screaming. Jeff's brother, 35-year-old Jeremy Bush, jumped into the hole and furiously kept digging to find his brother. Authorities were not able to detect any signs of life using listening devices and cameras at the scene and Bush is now presumed dead. The risk of sinkholes is common in Florida due to the state's geological bedrock, according to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. As rainwater filters down into the ground, it dissolves the rock, causing erosion that can lead to underground caverns, which cause sinkholes when they collapse.
