Fotini's Fall 2012 Collection included pieces girls have only dreamt about, until now.
With a dramatic combination of lace, feathers, and chiffon, Fotini created an impressive collection inspired by strong historical female figures, like Cleopatra, Helen of Troy, and Queen Nefertiti.
Her collection, on display at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, worked through a variety of jewel tones, including Bordeaux, eggplant, mallard green, tobacco, and navy.
Fotini was born in Athens, to an Egyptian Father and Greek Mother, before she moved to Canada, spent time in Italy, then moved on to New York.
It was these cultural diversity that lead Fotini to explore female sexuality in fashion around the world.
Now, Fotini wasn't always the bustling fashion designer, she used to be a serious business woman.
And that gap has surely been filled. Fotini wants women to understand they can be feminine and sexy, but at the same time feel confident and mysterious.
Erin Giddings, for Zoya, was in charge of making sure all the models' nails were covered in their new color; Jem.
Jem is a dark red-toned purple polish with metallic pink highlights and gold flecks, that Erin feels works perfectly with Fotini's glitzy presentation.
Fotini has mastered ultra feminine women's wear, but her Fall 2012 Collection has a new element; feathers.
The models all stood in one corner of the room, with big, blown out hair pulled to the side in a romantic wave, as viewers snapped pics and whispered excitedly to one another.
The pieces in Fotini's collection speak for themselves, but the hair and makeup team had their work cut out for them backstage.
Fotini's lead makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, had the fun task of making the models look confident, strong, and beautiful, with big blush and red lips.
Hung had an incredible time working with the extremely grounded and amiable designer.
