Models dressed up for an unexpected 2013 edition of the traditional Pirelli calendar launched in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday (November 27).
After 39 years of nude pictures, the Italian tire manufacturer hired U.S. photographer Steve McCurry to shoot fully clothed models.
The 23 portraits include Brazilians such as actress Sonia Braga, singer Marisa Monte, top models Isabeli Fontana and a pregnant Adriana Lima.
McCurry, who is most famous for his "Afghan Girl" photo, decided to give a different approach to the calendar's 40th edition.
He spent two weeks shooting in Rio's streets and slums and included photos of ordinary Brazilians and graffiti artworks to the pages.
The official launch took place in Rio's famous Copacabana Palace hotel and was followed by a gala dinner attended by several of celebrities, including Italian screen legend Sophia Loren who posed for the 2007 edition.
