Romney blasted by opponents after "being able to fire people" comment

Republican presidential candidate and front-runner Mitt Romney has weathered comments of elitism and being out of touch by his Republican opponents throughout this campaign.But his latest comment has provoked much criticism and provided plenty of ammunition for his opponents campaigns.Speaking to a business group in New Hampshire on Monday, Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, answered a question about healthcare systems, saying, "I like to be able to fire people who provide services to me."The comment, coming one day before voters in New Hampshire cast their ballots in their primary created a firestorm among his opponents and is likely to be used against him.It came after a weekend in which Romney was blasted by Republican candidates over his tenure at Bain Capital, the private equity firm co-founded by Romney, who has touted his success in business.
