An unmanned Russian Progress M-18M cargo ship successfully blasted into space on Monday (February 11).
It rocketed into orbit as planned at 9:41 a.m. EST (14:41 p.m. GMT) from its launch pad in Baikonur in Kazakhstan, heading to the International Space Station with 2.9 tons of supplies and equipment.
The Progress will dock with the ISS on Tuesday (February 12), delivering fresh water supplies, food, clothes, medical and research equipment.
The ISS crew will also receive letters from home, a set of photo equipment, a new onboard computer system and equipment for scientific experiments.
