Scandal Forces Lead Detective In Pistorius Cast To Be Replaced

Further controversy has sparked another twist in the murder case that the whole world is watching: The lead detective in the Oscar Pistorius murder trial is being replaced as he himself is facing an attempted murder charge for shooting at a minibus. The detective Hilton Botha, at the time of the shooting in 2011 was chasing a man accused of murdering a woman. Charges against Officer Botha were dropped but allegedly reinstated on February 4th- Ten days before Pistorius shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The argument is that the detective may be distracted by the charges he himself is facing. The detective to replace Botha was announced at a news conference: "I have decided to assign this very important matter, this very important investigation under the leadership and stewardship of the Divisional Commissioner of Detectives Services, Lieutenant General Vinesh Moonoo. He's the most senior detective in the subs environment," Oscar Pistorius, a celebrated Olympian and paralympian faces life imprison if he is convicted of the premeditated murder of Reeva Steenkamp.
