Fireworks will not be the only thing lighting up Australia's Sydney Harbor at the stroke of midnight on Jan. 1, 2013 as the New Year's Eve capital of the world will host an interactive smartphone-powered light show.
A billion people around the world will enjoy the spectacular Sydney Harbor Fireworks (through television), adding that more than 1.5 million people will experience the new interactive display at the harbor.
The words "Welcome to Sydney" will be presented on the Sydney Harbor Bridge pylons in 16 languages, representing the city's top migrant populations and tourists nationalities.
People will be able to upload 50 messages right after 18:00, and from midnight those message will be transmitted across the country to their loved ones.
