Six people died after drinking a poisoned batch of bootleg liquor in eastern India's Bihar state, according to authorities.
Fourteen people had been hospitalized with symptoms of poisoning after consuming bootleg liquor on Monday (December 10) night; police are now investigating who was responsible for the poisoning incident.
Doctors confirmed that six people had died of poisoning and that others taken ill after drinking illicit liquor were receiving the best medical treatment possible.
Doctors have issued warnings to members of the local community to avoid consuming liquor from random dealers. This was the second poisoning incident to have struck Bihar this month.
