More than a foot of snow has dumped down on the U.S southern plains on Monday. Most of Texas and Oklahoma have been swamped with snow. Two deaths have been blamed on the storm. Blizzard like conditions was reported in Oklahoma, Texas and parts of Kansas. Highways were affected as many had to close due to poor visibility. Airports were also affected with many incoming and outgoing flights being cancelled.
Oklahoma was hit the hardest in the storm: 56 of 77 counties were declared as being in a state of emergency. Major thunderstorms and heavy snow have been predicted for other areas and people have been advised to cancel their travel plans and brace for possible worse weather.
