People in coastal areas are using advances in fishing techniques to shop the ocean floor. Dolphins, porpoises and manatees can accidently get caught in the large fishing nets. Fatal fishing is now a threat to marine mammals.Since 1990 at least 87 species of marine mammals have been served as food in 114 countries around the world. Some of the species are regarded as delicacy around the world. The idea of this makes species like the dolphin, seals, and polar bears a target for the dinner plate.Researchers warn that aggressive fishing of the ocean could antagonize the destruction of sea life and the majestic animals that call it their home.
