Several thousand mourners gathered in central Cairo as the funeral of Egyptian activist Gaber Salah passed through Tahrir Square on Monday (November 26).
Salah was injured in anniversary demonstrations marking the Mohamed Mahmoud protests, which also turned violent last week.
The Egyptian state news agency MENA reported that Salah, was wounded in the clashes that erupted on November 19.
MENA say he suffered impact wounds to the head, neck, chest and arms and was put on life support in intensive care, where he died on Sunday (November 25).
Activists called for the anniversary protest on November 19 to pressure on President Mursi to punish those responsible for killings and abuses during the rule of deposed leader Hosni Mubarak.
The demonstration turned violent after a presidential decree was passed by Mursi which puts his decisions beyond legal challenge until parliamentary elections.
More protests have been called for Tuesday
