Thousands of Santas left the cold of the North Pole behind and swapped it for the summer heat, as a Santa Claus festival got underway in Sydney, Australia on Saturday (November 24). The temperature was 88 degrees fahrenheit in the harbour city, but that didn't deter about two thousand people from donning their Santa outfits Sunday (November 25) to participate in the annual Santa Fun Run. Participants sweltered along a 3 mile route to raise money for the Variety Charity, which raises money for sick and disadvantaged children, in what some have dubbed "a Claus for a cause". For many, the highlight of the festivities was on Saturday, when some acrobatic Santas took to the harbour for a water spectacular. Instead of his usual sled, Santa rode on a jetski, performing summersaults to the delight of the crowd. After a fireworks display, Santa then became airborne, flying across the city skyline with the help of a water jetpack, firing a rocket to light up a giant Christmas tree.
