In a unique Beauty Contest 25 transgender hopefuls, donned their best to win the title of Queen at the 9th Miss International Queen Contest in Thailand.
Participants came from all corners of the world with nationals from 16 countries including; The United States, Brazil, Japan and South Korea. The judging however for this contest was a little different than your run of the mill beauty contest; judges stated that they were also judging on intelligence, and opinion. The prize for the winner was $10,000 USD, a one year hotel residency in Pattaya and the service of being a goodwill ambassador for one year to promote equal rights for the transgender community.
The lucky queen that walked away with the prizes and the title was Marcelo Ohio from Brazil. Second and third runner ups went to Miss USA and Ms. Thailand. All proceeds from the event go to community out-reach programs that help the transgender communities.
