Churning toward the Atlantic Ocean and taking aim at the eastern Caribbean on Monday was tropical storm Chantelle. Satellite imagery shows the storm brewing as it could hit Haiti and the Dominican Republic later this week.
The tropical storm does appear however to be of no threat to the US, but meteorologists are warning that the path of the storm could change as it develops. It is likely that the storm will head back to sea after skirting across the eastern coast of Florida, crossing over the Bahamas on Saturday.
Winds from the storm on Monday reached 40 miles per hour, 630 miles east-southeast of Barbados. The forecast predicts that the storm will gain strength and turn into a hurricane.
