18 unidentified bodies from the Bangladesh building collapse were buried by authorities on Wednesday in Dhaka. Bodies were buried as they were decomposing a week after the disaster killed hundreds.
The tragic collapse is the worst of its kind in the nation killing around 402 people, while 2,500 were rescued. The garment industry in Bangladesh is a massive industry with 60% of garments going to Europe. The safety of the workers however does not always meet standards, and the workers who are mostly women work for low pay.
There are 3.6 million people working in the Bangladesh garment industry making the nation the world’s second largest exporter behind China.
