U.S. stocks edged lower on Monday as disappointing Chinese economic data offset last week's historic rally that took the Dow to record highs. Data released over the weekend showed China’s inflation at a 10-month high in February while factory output and consumer spending failed to beat expectations. The Dow Jones industrial average .DJI was down 6.57 points, or 0.05 percent, at 14,390.50. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX was down 1.62 points, or 0.10 percent, at 1,549.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC was down 4.94 points, or 0.15 percent, at 3,239.43.
