U.S. stocks rose at the open on speculation Spain will soon request a bailout, something that markets hope could stop the Eurozone debt crisis from getting worse.
The ECB has said Spain must request aid before it launches a new, potentially-unlimited program of bond purchases.
Global Shares swung higher on Spain's bailout plans as investors look ahead to central bank meetings and data releases this week.
