A 50-year-old Welshman has become an instant sensation after video of him juggling a soccer ball was posted on the Internet.
Footage of 130kg Andrew Cassidy practicing 'keep-up' in a deserted car park in Milford Haven on the Welsh coast has attracted over 200,000 hits on YouTube since it was posted on Tuesday (March 26).
Speaking on Thursday former fisherman Cassidy explained his motivation in taking up the pastime.
"I had a friend of mine who died who was a flatmate of mine and I was overweight and I needed to think about something else and I started to do it to lose weight, something to keep me active, keep my mind active, and it's just carried on from there," he said.
Cassidy played down his juggling skills which have drawn admiration from passers-by in the town.
"I think it's just practice myself. All the kids come up to me and say 'Oh that's amazing' but as far as I'm concerned it's just repitition of kicking a ball," he said.
Cassidy admitted he had not even watched himself on the Internet.
"It's a bit over the top of my head really, it's all happened in just over a day, my head has been in a spin with it. I only had two hours sleep last night because I couldn't get to sleep thinking about what's happened in the last day. I haven't even seen myself on YouTube yet so that will be something for me to see."
The footage has led the organizers of the World Freestyle Football Championships to invite him to perform at the opening ceremony in Dubai, according to newspaper reports.
