Why Is Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg In South Korea? -- PROMO

Facebook Inc  (NASDAQ: FB) Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg met South Korean President Park Geun-hye in Seoul on Tuesday, June 18 during his first visit to the country.

It was the latest among the series of Park's meeting with chiefs of global information technology companies to seek advice for her 'creative economy' vision.

During the meeting with Park, Zuckerberg said South Korea is an important market for his company and he would study ways to cooperate on her 'creative economy' vision, a statement from the presidential office said.

Park's 'creative economy' vision calls for creating new business opportunities and jobs with the information and communication technology as well as culture and other realms.

Zucherberg arrived in Seoul on Monday, June 17for his two-day visit and he is expected to have a meeting with Samsung Electronics officials, including Vice Chairman Lee Jay-young, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in their business.

The Facebook CEO is scheduled to leave the country later on Tuesday on his personal jet.
