The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took part in traditional St Patrick's day celebrations with Irish guards at the Aldershot Barracks in England on Sunday (March 17).
Prince William's pregnant wife Kate, presented members of the 1st Battalion Irish Guards with sprigs of shamrock, in a tradition dating back to 1901, when it was started by Queen Alexandra.
The Duchess also honored the regimental mascot, an Irish wolfhound, by pinning a shamrock to its collar.
The Duchess wore a dark green dress coat and a gold shamrock brooch that was previously worn by the Queen Mother.
Prince William, who is Colonel of the Irish Guards, was dressed in traditional attire.
The British royal couple, who are expecting their first child in July, smiled as they met various officers during the ceremony and posed for a group photograph.
