A team of researchers in China have made a significant discovery, the world’s oldest primate fossil. The name is Archicebus Achilles and it was about the size of a large mouse. Researchers have been able to examine it in fine detail discovering its tiny eye and monkey like feet. The team used the most advanced radiation technology to scan the fossil to then reconstruct it.

The creature was more active during the day then the night. The fossil also reveals information about primate evolution and the evolution of mankind. The team says the fossil represents a point in evolution when primates diverged into two groups-tarsier primates and anthropoids- whose modern descendants include monkeys and humans.
